Maybe just buy a large HyperX mouse pad and get a normal, large desk? (Get a large one from IKEA or something like that)

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

i am trying to build a computer that is kind've big. is there a material that i could cover my desk that would work great for mouse tracking and that not to expensive? any other tips for a desk?

As others said getting a nice mouse pad is the best solution since you will wear out the material that you cover or wrap your desk in. If you want a material that's decent wear and gives a different surface/look to your table Contact Paper for shelve/drawer liners work really well I've use some of that stuff on my shelves and it's pretty good. As for mouse tracking it seems ok but I would definitely think a good mouse pad will do much better.
