Mechanical Keyboard and BIOS

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

Nah, I've tried both. It's a real pain now too because I installed a Linux partition and now if I want to boot into Windows I have to put in a different keyboard just to boot :(

Use a PS/2 adapter

So my mechanical keyboard will not recognize in the BIOS. I want to be able to enter the BIOS or select boot options but the keyboard is unresponsive. It works inside Windows and Linux and it lights up.

I am using a P8p67 rev 3.0 ASUS LGA 1155 socket motherboard and a Cooler Master CM Storm.

Any ideas?

Also, other USB keyboards work. I tested it with a random dell one so keyboards do work in the BIOS.

It's normal. It uses multiple HIDs to be able to do NKRO so you won't be able to enter the bios using it.

Is there anything that I can do so I can?

probably a long shot but would it have something to do with whether it's a usb 2 or 3 port? try a usb 2 port if you haven't already.

I assume there's no option that you've overlooked in the BIOS to accept different kinds of USB devices?

I know Im probably not being very helpful but might as well try...
