Folding on FX6100?

Go to solution Solved by Vavetti,

If I had to guess I think it'll do 6-7k ppd.

But cpu folding isn't that great tbh.

Hey guys,

It seems like I'll be getting an FX-6100 for $60CAD this weekend. I'm wondering, how well does it fold? How much ppd can I expect? (I get ~760-900ppd on my unlocked Sempron 145, so any gains are welcome)

That chip is quite power hungry, so be careful with your power bill :/

I know, I'm tempted to get a second second-hand 7950. It's so nice living in an apartment with free electricity :) Still, I'm swapping mobos anyway, figured might as well toss in a better cpu.

In case someone is curious, after running my system overnight with the FX-6100, now that I have it, the PPD for it is 5529 (although the Chrome folding app is running as well, so that number could be higher), and my total desktop (non-Chrome) PPD with the FX chip and an HD7950 is 90567. I'm pretty damn happy to be honest. We'll see how well my upcoming/eventual Intel build does.

Thank god my 280x is actually powerful or I wouldn't be folding anymore.

Don't be so down, the Sempron I had in here could barely do 1000ppd even if left alone.
