ubuntu steam error

libc.so.6" i keep geting this when i try to install steam on ubuntu

Using .tar.gz or .deb?

Did you get the file from steam webpage or ubuntu program library?

I had same kind of problem with steam, and i tried the following command:
 

sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-raring
 

I had to restart my computer and after this, it worked!

I think it was a problem with the kernel.
