Screen Recording Software

Shadowplay can record the desktop, as well. Just go in settings and tick the box.

Hello guys,

So long story short I'm in need a good, free, screen-recording software. It'll be used to record something and after some editing embed it in a power point presentation for class.

Can anyone recommend anything both good, free, and Windows 8 compatible (specs in sig if it matters)? I don't need audio btw, just capture whatever is happening on my screen at as close to 60 FPS as possible. I have to switch between programs while still recording.

I've tried quite a few, but the ones I could eventually get working seems to record really choppy <10FPS and it didn't turn out great. I forgot to keep track of what I tried last time (was 2 months ago) but I've already tried ezvid, Fraps, CamStudio and Screen Recorder.

Thanks for looking.
