μATX Gaming Rig. Suggestions welcome!

xiamandrewx

Hey everyone! I'm building inside of a Fractal Arc Mini R2. I am gaming @ 1080p. I took some pics of my rig the other day. I'm having a bit of trouble with cable management in the back. It cleans up nicely, but I do have a small bulge that's not really noticeable unless you run your hand over the side panel. Overall I think it looks nice. I still wanna do some upgrades, like new GPU's, custom sleeved and sized cables, hard tube liquid cooling (b/c of JayzTwoCents), etc. I know I want more performance. I would like to push newer games above 100fps.. preferably 120. My monitor is more than capable. I have all this power going to waste. For now, however, I am pretty happy with my gaming rig.

This is gonna be somewhat of a build log. There are some immediate changes that I will be making. First will be this window. Then the custom cables from Sanctum Sleeving. That's on hold until I feel like measuring all of the places my cables will run through. And once I decide the right connectors that I need.

I hate the acrylic window, so I'll be replacing it with a real piece of tempered glass. It's being slowly (and hopefully carefully ) shipped this week. Still gotta get a dremel and some tools to cut off the tabs holding the current plexi in place. I'll attach some glam photos and my pcpartpicker link. I'll keep posting back as I keep upgrading.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4PwNTW- Didn't have RM 750, but the 850 is pretty much the same price that I paid.

Okay, so I'm checking back in with a mod to my case. I went to OneDayGlass.com and ordered a 1/8" thick sheet of 12.25" x 11.75" tempered, tinted glass. Thankfully, after one week from the date of purchase, the glass arrived at my house safely.

This is a fairly simple mod that I think anyone with a dremel can do. All I had to do was bend up the brads holding the plexi window in place. Then cutoff those brads. And add some 3M 4010 industrial adhesive to hold it all in place. I may have went overkill with the adhesive, but I didn't want to take any chances. Here are some before and after pics as well as a sort of step by step picture guide. I forgot to take pictures after I cut off the brads so there is an extra pic with the brads circled. That's what you dremel away. I could have cut off the entire lip that is sorta in the way, but instead I just used two layers of the adhesive so that it just barely clears the lip that is left. It looks nice and I did a quick test to be sure it wasn't going to fall out under it's own weight. Overall, I think it looks so much better. Lemme know what you guys think!!

Have a great day!!!
