Not really, there will be so much more to it when a beta or the completed game comes out, you will be working to earn in-game money so you can buy the ships that now you can only pay with real money. Since it's a pre-beta and the only people that is supposed to be playing it right now is people who want to support the development of the game don't expect a regular experience with it.

No, everything will be available in the game for in game credits the only thing you need to buy is a starter pack, even the alpha will be getting a credit system for renting ships/equipment in the next patch. At release the ships will no longer be available to buy directly with IRL cash but there will be a certain amount of credits you can purchase with IRL cash each week/month so people who don't have a lot of time to play can still experience what the game has to offer.

Its important to note that a bigger more expensive ship isn't the best option in every situation, everything will have trade-offs and everything from mining to dogfighting has an element of skill associated with it which you cant buy ;)

No, I was a god in the Aurora LN and winning games in against an entire fleet of hornets but I'm a mere peasant in anything else, the game has a high skill set and you need to get to know your own ship.

Pay to win? In my opinion, no. Pledging and getting the ship that matches yor preffs will give you a head start though. You can start with an aurora and be an ace, the skills and how "smart" you are matters a lot. Joining the org *Ulttehm* will help you achieve your goals.

There is a way to buy some UEC for real money but its 19,99 euro (in Europe) with the cooldown time, would it still be available when the game releases? I don't know. Personally hope not and if so i hope it would be ridiculusly low like 5 euro pet month :). There is a grey (black) market to, how is it going to b controlled i dont know either...

Guys elaborate on that one please :D

If Chris Roberts would turn this game into PTW that would mean a loooong fall from his throne that he is about to sit on LOL.
