What do people think of this PC: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2J8ft6as an upgrade from my current one: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Yq3rhM

I'm wanting a better processor for streaming and recording, as well as a better graphics card for gaming, and I need more storage seeing as my current 1TB WD blue is almost filled up and the SSHD is faster.

ON the first link I kinda wanted everything to be color coordinated but I just couldn't resist the orange case.

I have the OS already so that doesn't matter. I might upgrade the i3 to an i5 in the future but for now I'll probably stick to this.

I do want this to stay around 800-900 CAD.

i would go for a cheaper mobo and an i5 4660/4690k

1600MHZ ram

And swap the 960 out for an 280x

What about this motherboard: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z97e

Also I'm wanting to switch to Nvidia and see how well that goes for me.

But I wanted the colors to match with GPU, MOBO, and RAM, so. yeah.

Also would a 450W power supply run this setup? or would I need to upgrade?

Yeah sure that would work. thats a high end board, you could go for lower, if you wanted to spare some money towards a better gpu, but youre choice :) dunno prices in your country.

I am an nvidia fanboy myself, but you would get more bang for the buck with the 280x

@AFlyingBuffalo 450w thats okay if your not going to do some heavy OCing.

*Correction: it's okay, so long as it is any 9xx GPU. No matter if OCing hard or not.

What I would go with for the same price (left some breathing room for changes).

- Higher quality PSU

- More powerful GPU

- More powerful CPU

I actually have an extra power supply that I'll be keeping (https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cs450m), and I'll probably get an SSHD or something. Also I really liked the orange case I had selected before so I'd probably buy that instead, but I do like the rest of the build you've shown. (well, maybe not the GPU but meh)

So if I get a GTX 960 I should be fine?

Yes. Even if you were to get a 980, you would be fine.

In fact, you could even slip away with SLI 960, had your motherboard supported it.
