Flaky internet

Friend of mine has DSL(lives in middle of nowhere) and his internet keeps going down. It's not my internet, I know almost nothing about it. Ideas?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

He should contact his ISP, ask them to run some tests. Living in the middle of nowhere results in shitty internet more often than not.

This can mean that since he's living in the middle of nowhere, the ISP didn't bother to setup a proper line to your friend.

The only thing he can do is call the ISP and ask that they find the source of the issue. My bet is that it's somewhere between the middle of nowhere and their first junction.
