Galaxy tab 3 10.1 charging issues

My tablet has been acting strangely over the past few weeks, and I'm not sure why... When I plug in the tablet, it says it is charging and appears to charge, but it takes an incredibly long time. The charger doesn't even seem to get warm when the device is plugged in. I have tried using another iPad 2.1 amp charger and it makes no difference, still takes a ridiculous amount of time.

I'm also unable to use the device when it's charging; The battery drains when it's plugged in, in all situations I have tried.

Does this sound like a fault with the tablet? Or is there something I'm not trying/doing correctly?
