Asus MX299q problems

I've brought a mx299q 6 months ago. Was running hdmi then decided to switch to display port. Well it worked once until I turned it off. Can't get it to work again. Plus it's metal plate across the bottom of the screen fell off and won't stay on any more.

Anyone had issues with this monitor? Or got any ideas why display port won't work.
