In terms of performance @neons, you will be a bit bottlenecked by the G3258 in modern games(I'm having a hard time with mine) if you don't overclocked it high enough. You can opt for a X4 860K and even maybe a cheap a88x mobo and swap the CPU cooler with a Hyper T4. It's not the best CPU but it will get the job done. It won't bottleneck the 280 either. :)

You're overbudget by $122. You forgot the ODD, OS and Monitor.

ODD useless

monitor I left $100 for it

OS you can get MUCH cheaper from somewhere like /r/hardwareswap

ODD might be useless for you but it might be helpful for him. Why would he put it in his build if he doesn't need it?(see my point?)

Not much to be honest. It won't do significant difference unless you're multitasking like me(I open Visual Studio 2010, chrome and some MS word and excel while I play)

Here's a build that's within your budget. Hope you like it. :)

Is it true that the caviar blues aren't good for gaming? How much could I expect to overclock that amd CPU to? Thanks again. I appreciate the help.

Hey sorry I haven't replied earlier. The caviar blue is good for general use. Sure the WD Black is faster but when it comes to bang for the buck the WD Blue is a better choice. I'd say the 860K is pretty good in overclocking although you might want a beefier cooler if you want to crank it up.
