Problem with AP121

What do you have your fan plugged into? It sounds like the fan blades are hitting a wire or the noise could be created by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).

Check that the fan isn't hitting anything and try plugging it directly to your power supply with a 3 pin to molex adapter like this one http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=73723&vpn=CBL-CTR103P&manufacture=Koolance and then post results.

I ended up getting an RMA and got a replacement the next morning. Couldn't be the cable due to the design of the fan actually having a trench for cable on the backside of the fan which has a grill so that possibility is gone. Also it didn't matter what I plugged it into. Still had the same noise. The other 4 I received were fine.
