So my friend has been asking me over and over again to recommend her a good laptop that turns CAD well. The problem is I never worked with CAD nor knew much about it so I don't know what to recommend. Does it need a good graphic card? A good processor? Loads of RAM?

Can you be more specific? CAD just means computer-aided design. Which CAD programs do you intend to use? AutoCAD, Inventor?

The problem is she didn't specify what program she uses, likely autoCAD.

Ccad a decent CPU

My dad did cad up to 2008 on a 2nd gen p4

3d rendering of cad lots and lots of CPU power unless you can afford teslas

How about graphics and ram, will a 850 and 16 gigs of ram do good.

for cad drawing sure I would suggest something more beefier just to be on the safe side but its going to fare well with most software. But like I said if they do rendering as well get MOAR POWAH. GPU really doesn't affect anything

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Okay well if she's going to be using something like AutoCAD I think just focus on getting a laptop with a decent CPU and enough RAM (8GB or more). If she's going to be doing any 3D stuff, it's gonna need a discrete GPU as well.
