AMD 8150 Help

Hey Guys,

I was going to get an fx-8150 and a msi 970 gaming motherboard, however linus says that you might need a BIOS update to use it. If that is true, please tell me how I would go about doing it.

It will be fine, you don't need a BIOS Update but why not the 8350? or 8320? Bulldozer really sucked.

One could argue that Vishera is lackluster as well. In fact, the performance improvements are largely limited to frequency.

All 970 boards will run an 8150 without bios update. Some 970 boards will need an update to run the 8350.

dont buy a bulldozer fx. just dont. either fx 8320 or better an i5 4460 with a cheap board

Where are you getting the 8150 from? The 8320 is currently $139 on Amazon and newegg.

Ahh I forgot about the 4 phase 970 boards. that being said I don't think it is most 970 boards that cant handle 8 core fx cpus especially if your not overclocking.
