Asus mobo Ram?

Hello everyone,

Looking for what ram to get for my budget build going with this mobo asus z97 LGA 1150 and looking for 8gb DDR3 of ram. Ive been reading 2 x 4gb is a good setup? Basically looking for one thats compatible, I keep seeing only LGA 1155, I thought that was the socket for the cpu?

Why would you go Z97 for a budget build? That doesn't really make any sense.

As for RAM basically any 240 pin DDR3 RAM will work. Dual channel or single channel doesn't matter too much.

And yes LGA 1155 is a CPU socket for older intel CPUs. Z97 uses the LGA 1150 socket. RAM doesn't have anything to do with sockets. All that matters is that it's 240 pin and DDR3

Just get whatever is cheapest and it will work fine. 2x4gb has slightly better performance than 1x8gb but not much.

Could go with this. Just don't touch the circuits on the side.
