^My current build and setup, wondering what I should upgrade.

I have considered upgrading to an I5, but that would be $350 ($230 I5 4690k, $115 Gigabyte GA-Z97-SLI)

I also don't currently have any storage for files, just my SSDs.

There are 2 custom parts on the list, one is a SSD that was given to me, and I am not sure of the brand. The second is my CPU Cooler, which is huge, and has a large fan, but is an obscure brand. It suffices.

Whatdya guys think?

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

TBH I'd focus on the CPU and CPU cooler.

It looks like you could get by with the storage.

If you're getting good temps, then leave the CPU cooler alone.

An i5 dosen't have to be that much. You can pick up an i5 4440 and a cheap H81 mainboard for 250. You'll notice a 10fps+ difference in games.

But I want a good motherboard to support upgrades in the future.

I also don't mind putting an extra ~$40 in for the best I5.

you cpu is good imo. id get an aftermarket cooler to overclock it a bit, and i would change you GPU,

my friend has a i7-4790 with a r9 270x, and i have an Fx-6300@4.6ghz and a gtx 970 g1 gaming, and i have better graphic/fps at bf4(exemple)

everyone will say an i5 is better than Fx-8320, and they are right. but as per your current rig, i would keep it and invest elsewhere : gpu. storage, aftermarket cooler.

may your framerates be high and your temperatures be low. #pcmr

The highest requirement game I play is PlanetSide 2

At this moment my bottleneck is my CPU, and my motherboard as it doesn't have VRM coolant.

And my current GPU is good.

Also something of note: when the new Direct X comes out, AMD CPU based machines will get a 4x performance boost.

maybe our cpu wont bottleneck as much after Directx12. maybe we should wait.

But will our video cards support the new DirectX? This is the question.
