First of all, I hope I put this in the right section, I wasn't sure where to put it..

Then the topic:

Currently I am using my first ever custom built pc I built about 4 months ago. Since that time I built alot more computers for family and friends.

Because it was my first build the cable management isn't that good and I would like to improve that.

I am planning on taking my pc apart tomorrow and rebuilding it.

Is there something i have to keep in mind when doing this?

And do the harddrives and ssd's have to be connected to the same sata port as before?

Thanks in advance! :)

Well, be careful with all your components, stay away from carpets, cats, beardy men and so on.

The bootdrive should be connected to the same port, or you'll have to switch the bootorder and Windows might need to be reactivated [asked for that when I changed my boot SSD port]. Other than that nothing that I was aware of, the drives will get the same letter.

The data and power cables do not have to be the same, they are just a pathway for data/power to travel on. It doesn't matter what road you take to get to your destination as long as the road's go there right? So any SATA + Power will be fine. If you plan on taking your CPU fan off you'll need to reapply thermal paste, otherwise, just make sure your PSU is unplugged before you take things out just to be safe! And make sure you stay grounded so you don't short anything out.

It might be simple but as hard as it seems try to not blow into your pc for dust and stuff as your breath is something around 80% water and that are fu** some stuff up badly. Unless you have that fancy MSI board.
