Hey so after building my pc im worried about downloading a virus or malware on my computer and i was curious how to remove a virus if i get one.

I'm going to get Malwarebytes (free version), and a free trial of Kaspersky Just in case. Does anyone use these, do they actually work or am i actually downloading a virus. Also what should i look for on websites that could possibly warn downloading a virus, and do you guys knwo any good anti-ad add-ons or software for FireFox.

Sorry if the post doesn't exactly correlate to the title.

Ive heard that malwarebytes is a good program, although I have not personally used it personally. I have known many people that have used it and had no complaints. Make sure that you put it on a flash drive though, because when in safe mode when you go to repair the virus you will not be able to access the file

But if I where to get a Virus on my computer how would I remove it

Step 1- Start the PC in Safe Mode by pressing F8 on boot, if this doesn't work see step 1½, otherwise go to step 2.

Step 1 ½- If unable to get Safe Mode to work by pressing F8 on boot, shut down the PC quickly during boot process which will prompt the recovery screen on next boot where you can select Safe Mode in.

Step 2- Open malwarebyte and then click on scan.

I mean... It's not that complicated.

These days, what people consider to be "viruses" are mostly just adware and other such crap that you get from browsing the web without proper protection.

That's why Malwarebyte works so well(Not an Anti Virus).

After all, why make a virus that breaks a PC, when you can make a trojan/adware software that will make you tons of money.

If you truly believe that you have a virus, you can always just download one of the recovery disks from whichever AV company of your choice, burn it and boot the PC to it.

Like this one from Kaspersky

Doesn't require a license and will remove your viruses, if you have any.
