Game Freeze- effecting other programs

Hi

 

Im in a bit of a pickle at the moment. When i launch Gmod for the first time since restart and join a server, after about 5 min the game freezes, when i alt tab out of it, Google Chrome will no longer load any new pages, sometimes not responding also. When i open steam (friends list, etc) outside of the game, while its still frozen, Steam it self will then freeze. Sometimes TS3 will even freeze. After a few minutes, at the exact same time. all programs effected will un-freeze and work perfectly, until i restart my PC and repeat the process. 

 

This issue does not occur with any other source based game, or any other game on my system for that matter.
 

I have even gone to the length of deleting everything of both my drives and re-installing windows, only installing Anti-Virus, Steam, GMOD, Chrome and teamspeak 3. At first it was working without any issues, after a few days it started happening again. 

 

All important drivers are up to date or on stable versions, as far as im aware.

 

If anyone could possibly shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated

All temps are normal, doesn't smell like its is on fire nor is it making scary noises.

This sounds like maxing out RAM, or a slow hard drive.

edit: If you had like 5+ tabs open, then this is definitely more likely.

@Gregas Check RAM usage? See if there is spikes or something? (also check CPU usage)
