windows 8 Shutdown

hallo,

 

i got my new pc for a few weeks now with Windows 8 on it and i notice somthing weard when shutting it down.

 

When i shut it down, all my programs close, the window of "windows is shutting down" comes up and than black sreen. 

my monitor tels me no HDMI connection is found but my pc keeps running. the fans keep going (on the case and CPU cooler) and the light on the GPU also keeps working.

 

so, i press the "reset" butten at the case and windows re-starts and than i re-shut it down from the login window and than it shuts down the good way!

 

anny idea how this comes?

its normal, it just turns off the monitor while windows 8 saves everything then it turns off just fine, just leave it for a minute it will turn off

just make sure after a few minutes it is off, thats normal.

 

 

if like after 3-5 minutes if still on then thats probbly a problem

Some motherboards will do this, they keep fans going in a cool down made after the pc has shut down. ASUS boards with thermal armour will reverse the intake fans for a few secs after shutdown to "prevent dust build up"

hey, i look at it and afther playing Dying Light for 2hrs i shut down my PC... first night it shutdown with no problems.. Secend night, also afther few hours of Dying Light the PC kept spinning... for 15min long,than i had it and i pressed te reset butted to re-shut it down

Can you post some more details on you build spec, Motherboard, CPU, GPU etc?

Mobo: MSI Z97 PC mate
CPU: I7-4790K
(stock cooler)

GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4g
Ram: Crucial Ballistix sport 2x4 gb DDR3-1600

Case: Corsair 300r

 

(no exra fans, just stock fans)

It definitely doesn't look like this is by design then. Could be a fault with the Motherboard or the PSU I don't suppose you have access to a spare PSU so you can rule that out?
