First of all this is an older computer of mine, which I took apart and put back together for an extended qualifications project at sixth form, the specs shall be down below. I would just like to say this isn't my main computer, just one I built for a project.

The general idea for this project was to show that I could build a computer to play the latest games,a fairly simple task, one of the requirements for the task is to get feedback from people on how good the build is to play games, which I would greatly appreciated any feedback as to whether you thnk it's good enough to perform the task, or if you would recommend any changes to the build, within a fairly similar price range as to what the current parts would cost, like a different cpu from Intel etc.....

The specs:

CPU: amd fx8150 @4.2ghz air cooled

GPU: 1x EVGA GTX sc 680

Ram: 16gbs of crucial balistix elite @1886 mhz

Storage: A 250gb ssd and a 1tb hard drive

PSU: 750w OCZ

with an Asus sabretooth motherboard, can't quite remember what it is exactly

Again all I would appreciate some general feedback as to how good or bad it is for current games, and any improvements within a similar price range, the suggestions can be newer hardware as well.

Welcome to the Forum.

I don't play any particularly recent games, so the 680 is fine for me.

Your real problem is going to be the fact you're using an 8150, which has particularly weak single core performance (which is often what matters the most in game bottlenecking).

Storage and PSU sound fine.

Sig under construction.

Overall it's a good build. Shouldn't have any problems running the latest titles at 1080p. Maybe not always maxed out, but definitly at high settings.

If I would change something, it would probably be the CPU first. A lower end i5 would do great.
