Good ideas for NAS?

So do you think I can get a way with only having a 256gb ssd in my rig for all applications and windows then store games media and others in my high capacity NAS?

Totally! That's exactly what I have right now. I have my 250GB SSD in my PC for OS and all my Applications and I have about 100GB to spare on it and then I have my 1TB HDD in my NAS which contains nearly all my games, music, ISO's and other large files.

My current plan is to store my games and apps on my onboard 1tb HDD and store everything else on a NAS. Would it be okay though to store everything (except windows boot drive ssd) in the NAS, or would having the games stored further away decrease performance? Sorry for the noob questions im kind of just getting started.

I would not recommend storing applications on a NAS since that can cause some issues but you can store the majority of your games on your NAS without any issues, make sure you have a Gigabit LAN connection to your NAS though :)

I would not recommend storing applications on a NAS since that can cause some issues but you can store the majority of your games on your NAS without any issues, make sure you have a Gigabit LAN connection to your NAS though :)
