Need Help! best fan setup?

Go to solution Solved by Samsterstorm,

Ok great,thanks for the reply!

I live in South Africa and the Noctua fans are more than double the price of the Corsair fans so that is not a option. The Bitfenix are about the same as the corsair fans so will have a look at them. What would be the best fan setup ?

what u have there is fine, just replace all the corsairs with the correctly sized specter pros in ur chosen colours! They are great GREAT fans even for RADs

Hi guys

I am getting a Fractal Design Define R5 ,I want to replace and add Corsair fans (they are on special at the shop I am getting the case from).

I have a couple of setups in mind :

1)Two AF140 for front intake and one 140mm rear exhaust .

2)Two AF140 for front intake ,one 140mm bottom intake and one 140mm rear exhaust.

3)Two AF140 for front intake ,one 140mm bottom intake ,one 140mm rear exaust and one 140mm top rear exhaust.

I want to keep the case as quiet as possible ,I dont know a lot about fan setups but without any advice I would probably want to go for option 2 ,reason being the R5 comes with a 3 speed fan controller so I can have 3 140mm intakes running at low rpm thus reducing the noise but still having good cooling performance and without adding a second exhaust should also reduce the noise because its one less fan.

Also should I get AF140 high performance fans or quiet edition fans?I am trying get good cooling but still a very quiet system.I saw that the high performance fans are loud but the also move a lot more air than the quiet fans ,what would be the best silence/cooling performance ratio or setup?

Lastly I am going to get a SP120 for my CPU heatsinc ,the heatsinc supports two fans so should I add a second SP120 and run it in push-pull or is it just not worth it?

To sum up:

>>Fan setup 1,2 or 3?

>>AF140 High Peformance or AF140 Quiet edition?

>>One or two SP120 on my cpu cooler?

I am not mentioning my hardware because I will be upgrading everything shortly so please just suggest what setup or fan will be "worth" buying considering that I want the best possible performance for the least amount of sound. :)

Thanks guys ,any advice would be appreciated!
