How do you pick your case?

LogicalDrm

I go after something that I've named "The F-Ball";

Features. It needs the right amount of 5.25" bays, 3.5/2.5" bays, cable management shizz wazz..

Branding. One does not simply buy something that is of an unknown brand. Self-explanatory.

Airflow. You don't want your components to get hot.

Loudness. You don't want your computer to be loud.

Looks. You don't want an ugly computer case.

That's basically it.

Personally i don't really care about the looks.

The performance in terms of airflow, room for expansion and build quality are the most important factors for me.

I don't really mind a loud computer either, that's what headsets are for ;)

I don't care about price assuming it isn't ridiculous. I would reuse a good case for many generations of builds.

Depends on which motherboard im using, that of course depends on which CPU im using. Its all a knock on effect but in the end for me: it comes down to motherboard form factor and personal preferences for cable management, if it functions properly then its good, if it looks good then thats a bonus. Loose grommets, too many rivets and a side panel that is tricky to get back on are always annoyances for me.

Im toying with the idea of getting a proper silverstone case, that or a testbench to work on haha. Either one would be good

- looks (I dont like those robot looking, many kilos of plastic cases)

- nice clean look outside and inside

- black color inside and outside

- good ventilation

- dust filters

- price

- HDD bays that mount from the side, not from the rear (motherboard side). I just like it better for cable management.

- space for fans on the top

- PSU on the bottom

- accessories

XEON 1230 v2 / AMD R9 280x / 8GB DDR3 / Adata XPG SX900 256GB SSD / Corsair 300R Side Window / Corsair CX500M / Corsair M65 Green
