Hello All,

i'm a mikrotik fans, although i'm noob in the configuration but the bandwidth monitoring is far best from a few routers i've tried, been using it since 3 years ago for my house, office, & recommend it to my neighbor and it gave me no problem until early this year. It often disconnect me from Wifi, high latency although only 2 ppl connecting to the router without utilizing any bandwidth. Also, if a device utilized like 2 or 3Mbps of my 15Mbps ISP package, my ping latency to router will reach 1k++ in average...

Even worst is sometimes it's only allow mobile devices to connect but non of my laptop or desktop with normal wifi adapter/ wireless AP able to connect. Been tried a few solution like reset/hard reset the router, remove configuration with no default setting, upgrade firmware, change SSID, channel, transmit power, 20mhz/40mhz, use external 9db antenna &&& etc... the problem just came back again & again...

so i think it's time to explore new routers  B)

Can anyone help on recommend/share some advises? Looking for one with bandwidth control. Btw, my house is combined with 2 unit, and my room is far the router(phone line socket), same goes to my office, too many partition blocked.

Budget: Less than $200  :P

What RouterBoard do you have?

Since you didn't specify if you still want Mikrotik or not, I'm going out on a limb and say you want a new Mikrotik router.

In that case, I think you may find  RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN to be interesting. If you are aiming for something cheaper the RB951G-2HnD is a pretty good choice. I personally use it it's really good also very powerful.

Sorry, i'm not very good at writing...

I'm actually looking for new router other than Mikrotik, just a simple & easy configure router with bandwidth monitoring function, just like Asus User Define Priorities in QOS which can limit client bandwidth usage. Been with Asus router(N56U) few years ago, love the easy to use interface & features but too bad the wall penetration is weak and gave me very high latency when using it.
