Okay, so I have a common 1600x900 monitor from ASUS. I was thinking about stepping it up to a 1920x1080 monitor from BenQ that's about $350~. I was wondering if this is a little much for a 1080p monitor or not. The monitor in question is the BenQ XL2420Z. Is this a good gaming monitor, or is there something better for cheaper, etc? However, I also wondered if I should get a new monitor at all. I know 1600x900 isn't HD, but I was wondering if it was bad enough to have to step up to 1080p, or if I should save up a little more and get a 780ti, something I've wanted for a long time. On the flip side, though, a card like that would be overdoing it for 900p gaming. I'm just kind of stuck and need help making the right decision for my money. Any help would be appreciated :)

No, I wouldn't go as far as to say that $350 is too much for a 1080p monitor.. Especially the XL2420, which, for gaming, is as jelly is to peanut butter. (Did I really just use that? F*** It.)

HOWEVER... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313&cm_re=vg248qe-_-24-236-313-_-Product

Although it's currently out of stock at Newegg, they have it for around that price all the time. And free shipping.

Look at the Newegg rating & reviews.. As I always say.. Speaks for itself.

To make things a little easier for you.. After doing months of research myself (I tend to do that.. always) one thing was apparent: Those are the top 2, bar none. Best models, at the best price-to-performance anyone has to offer. Though, the ASUS one I linked is G-Sync compatible.

I would have to say - either one is a solid choice......

HOWEVER #2.... There's always IPS Panels... (These are TN)

(Which I bet is what all of LTT will soon be screaming at you)
