so basicly my sabbetooth 990fx r2.0 will only let me install windows based operations system it wont even let me boot of my usb in to the installer is this a bios setting that need changing or somthing

You sure you're booting off the flash drive and that you put the ISO on it properly?

You sure you're booting off the flash drive and that you put the ISO on it properly?

yeah defo it works on my media pc but wont work on my main rig

no i never brought one as i installed windows and all my drivers through usb stick

You should pick up a Blank DvD and try that, if that don't work it's probably a problem in the bios

USB is generally a very hit and miss method for installing OS in my experience - particularly with Linux I find that some motherboards just won't play nice. As others have suggested, try using an optical drive.

what OS you trying to install?

Well it's not Windows - so essentially it's either gonna be mac OS and he's trying a bootcamp method to install it, or it's Linux.

EDIT: Just remembered he has an AMD system, so if he's trying to install mac OS, he's gonna have a bad time XD

Afaik, you cannot install OSX on an AMD system. Since Apple machines only use Intel now, OSX can only be installed on Intel I believe.

10.6.6i works on amd systems.
