Hello LTT members,

my f-key is doing weird things. If I press it, nothing happens. But when I am not pressing it, it registers it at random times. It is sometimes just 1 letter, but other times it is stuck for a minute. I have to type this with the onscreen keyboard so please don't mind thetypo's.

I tried uninstalling razer synapse, but that does nothing. the switch also sounds and feels fine. I googled it, but I couldn't find anything on this problem.

I hope someone could please help me with this problem

did you spill anything on the keyboard?

you might try putting oil on the f and/or backspace key.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I found the problem, it was some faulty firmware...

Ever since installing synapse 2.0 it has been having problems. I think it automaticly updates the firmware off your keyboard. I tried installing an older firmware on it, but that basically bricked it. Then I started synapse 2.0 again and I held down the fn-key (had this problem before), then it reinstalled the firmware and now everything is fine. I am going to uninstall synapse 2.0 now, just to prevent it from ever messing with the firmware ever again.

Still thanks for all the suggestions.

when you have issues like this if its still under warranty just send it out for RMA no need to poke it yourself and possibly wreck it or void the warrently if thell do all that stuff for you.

I actually looked on their website, and it said that you can hold the fn-key while in razer synapse 2.0, you can restore you keyboard firmware. And since I program a lot, I couldn't miss it for a day :P

If something like this happens again it could also be the keyswitch, you can replace it by desoldering it ;)

When I found out the delete key could trigger my f key, I knew it was some kind of firmware problem.

And I think I am going to use a soldering iron on my keyboard, I don't have enough experience with soldering yet ;)
