It's been a long time since I've worked on and/or built a computer (been about five years or so, so I'm really out of the loop with today's stuff). The main thing I would be using this computer for is gaming and general media. I also plan to do some overclocking but I won't be going crazy with it. I set my budget at $1,500 (USD) not including peripherals. I've gone just slightly over and really don't wanna put any more into it, I'm just wanting to make sure I'm not gonna catch any bottlenecks or miss out on possible better parts for the same money or cheaper etc. Also something else to take into consideration is I have amazon prime, so all of this is free 2-day shipping, so shipping charges would have to be factored in if purchasing from elsewhere. So far what I have is:

Cooler Master HAF X - Full Tower Computer Case _________________ $161.99

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK (Black Edition) Motherboard ___________ $155.00

That build seems fine, there will be no bottleneck between the CPU and GPU. But are you sure you want a Full tower ATX case? Its going to be quite tall.. I have a Mid tower ATX (7 PCI E slots) and its about as tall as my monitor (24") when placed side to side.

Also, it has 2 5 1/4'' Bays, yours has 4 :o

I went with the full primarily because I was a bit worried about having plenty of room to work with putting everything together and figured the extra space would maybe help it more easily keep everything plenty cool/ventilated.

That CPU cooler is overkill imo. A Cosair Evo 212 is half the price and will cool your CPU fine, even for overclocking. With the money saved, get yourself a SSD. Also full towers are massive, just go with mid, they're cheaper, look better and performance isn't really a thing between the two
