Odd Windows 8.1 Sleep behavior

Go to solution Solved by jtmccutcheon98,

I appreciate everyone who replied, but my PC updated today and it is acting normally now. I'm not sure which update it was (there were about 20 of them). Again, thanks to all who replied.

Windows 8.1 is giving me a weird sleep behavior. Weather I manually sleep, close the lid, or push the power button (all should make it sleep), it acts as if it is a forced shutdown, where I have to wait for it to boot back up. Chrome tells me that it was not shut down correctly. Very frustrating. Can anybody help?

Have you actually check they're all set to sleep? (Shouldn't cause this behaviour anyway mind)

Try disabling sleep then reenabling it again

Open command as admin and enter

powercfg -s off
Reboot then reopen command as admin

powercfg -s on

Does the C-states affect the sleeping behaviour as well? Sometimes I let my pc sleep via sleeping button on keyboard. When I tried to wake it up, it shut down (30:70 chance )instead. RAM 2400Mhz oc 1.65v.

Yes, one of the c states does control sleep behaviour. Can't remember off hand which one though.

Edit

Its C3 which handles sleep.
