Make sure the cooling on your laptop will handel the chip. the T9900 is the same tdp as what you use now but the other is higher.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

Okay. Also forgot to ask, what are you going to do with the laptop?

If you're gaming. Then go for the Q9100.

EDIT: Check if the laptop supports the Q9100.

at $70 for 600 MHz boost I wouldn't do it (Poor Value) for the t9900 and the Q9100 looks like it will be a solid upgrade but the lack of any 45W TDP supported chip or quad core chips makes me wonder if your cooling will handle the chip. also your bios might not accept either of them.

I can't find anything stating cpu support? Could you possibly help?
