BSOD please help

i have a laptop that i just put  new hardrive in because the last one failed, has a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate and i keep geting a BSOD error. Can anyone help me troubleshoot it

That's an issue with graphics drivers, you need to reboot the system in safe mode by spamming F8 when you see the splash screen and choose safe mode with networking, then you can go to the manufacturer's website and download the video drivers. You may need a secondary PC if your laptop can't get on the internet because it needs drivers

i uninstalled the driver i had installed and it still done it with the default driver from microsoft, will not blue screen in safe mode only normal mode

What is the Pc, maybe I can find the driver for you

its a presario cq57, the driver from HP is the one i had installed

I'm not sure if your system is 32 or 64 bit, or whether it is an intel or AMD system. However, I found these drivers that may work http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54976.exe

win 7 64bit intel and the driver on hp site did not fix the issue, im thinking about just installing fedora workstation instead of win7

I think ubuntu or lubuntu would work really well on an older machine like that.
