I have been trying to learn how to animate properly for a while now and am looking for new books and tutorials to check out.

So far I've been learning Adobe Flash (I know it isn't ideal for animation anymore) and reading "The Animators Survival Kit" by Richard Williams.

Are there other books or tutorials that you guys suggest?

I would like to animate in 2d. I know it that it could be done within the autodesk programs (similar to whats done for southpark), but wouldn't it add another level of complexity?

What do you mean isn't ideal for animation anymore?

To my understanding, a lot of amateur animators dont like using it anymore because it hasnt evolved much for animators over the year and supposedly there's better software suited to animators (not familiar with anything other than toon boom). I am learning flash because I have access to it.

Like 90% of animators on youtube use flash. Many companies such as disney have their own software.
