Hello.

I have just build my first PC and installed windows on it! System runs fine except for one little thing. I have noticed that if I watch lots of youtube videos or online TV series or just download some stuff my memory usage goes threw the roof! It not only uses all of my 8Gb of ram but starts to eat my virtual memory as well.

Now I havent noticed that playing games or using other programs has the same effect, for now its just internet oriented. When I stop these activities the usage doesn't drop to 15% which it uses when I boot up. When It uses up all the memory the PC becomes unresponsive and I cant even shut it down( the screen just goes black and after a minute or two I'm on the windows lock screen) or restart. I need to do manual restart and then everything is back to normal untila I start downloading again... I have AVG running as my virus/malware protection. All instaled programs are the same as I have on a different PC where there is no such problem.

Does anybody have any sugestions?

Under Processes in Task Manager click on Memory to sort from most to least. This way you'll be able to see what is using up all that RAM. If it is indeed your browser, make sure you don't have a bunch of extensions running, disable as needed.
