Dayz Beta?

Hello! A few minutes ago I was looking at some Steam settings and noticed that there is a option to opt in and out of betas? I changed the setting to where it says I opt in. After that something started to download in Steam. Anyone know what this is and what it does?

It downloads the Beta version, which allows for new features (albeit more unstable than normal DayZ itself.)

It's the experimental build. Basically, alpha of the alpha. Check the DayZ subreddit and you'll probably find a changelog somewhere. 

 

Experimental > pushed out to those who have nothing better to do than self-loath. Updated more frequently, WILL break shit.

Stable > pushed out to those who care a tad bit for themselves. Updated once-ish a month with all the fixes and changes from experimental.
