So I've had this problem before but I've forgotten how to fix it. After updating my bios it reset to ide mode and now when I switch back to raid mode windows crashes on startup. I've tried going into ide mode and installing raid drivers and changing registry values but haven't been able to fix it. Windows automatic repair couldn't do it either.

You should of removed the drives before messing with the SATA mode. Not sure if your RAID config on the drives got hosed?

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.

you could try doing a chkdsk, might just be an indexing error, can you get into safe mode?

Windows will load only in ide mode.  Stupid bios update reset my sata mode to ide.  Switching back to raid my raid array rebuilds itself and shows that it's fine but I think now theres some issue with the windows raid driver.  I'm going to try using windows 8 refresh tonight and see if that fixes it.
