Hey guys, I got a new ssd drive and the enthoo luxe. My next day off I'm going to move my guts to the case and boot up windows 8.1 onto my 500 gb ssd. I rememebr when I did windows 7 it came with so much crap. Anyone who has 8.1 and just and uses it for Web surfing. Office. And gaming. Does it come with a bunch crap that is easy just to uninstall? Just trying to get mentally prepared. I hate all the junk 7 came with years ago. Also, would I be able to format my old hdd with the same windows 8.1 key? Because it'll be linked on 1 computer. Couldnt find a straight answer. So I'm reaching out. Thank you

What kinda crap are you talking about? I don't think there is any crap installed using a OEM ISO.

Also make sure you follow this guide. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/302331-doing-a-full-uefi-mode-install-on-windows-88110/

I bought the full version of 8.1. Crap was like trials for software etc. Things that I wouldn't need or use. Was just curious. I'll check that guide out. Thank you.

Ya there shouldn't be any trial software or anything like that. Was your previous install on a prebuilt by chance? Thats the only reason that there would be trials and stuff. If its just straight from microsoft all you will get is the OS.

Yeah it was. Man. Thank you do much. And that guide is great. I never heard of that. But before I attempt it I will do some research make sure that I'm able too. Thanks again.

No problem  :D Glad I was of help!

The first time I installed windows 8 incorrectly because I didn't know about the other way. When I installed it properly on another system (SSD as well) the boot times were crazy fast. I set it to Ultra Fastboot (on a gigabyte board) and was on the desktop within like 3 seconds of pressing the power button.

Currently I only have a gtx750 and my motherboard is the msi ms7599. I don't think I'm able too. When I get my new gear though. Waiting for skylake... I'll he able to simply reformat my ssd with uefi right? I never have any important things I have to keep. So a simple reformat shouldn't be a problem when uefi is available to me I hope
