Hi guys,

So 16 days until I get to pull the trigger.

I had the x99 build in mind for a long time. But after careful consideration, and seen the price of turbo kits for the ae86 popping up I decided to make a x79 build and it came out to be half the price.

mainly gaming and photo editing on this rig.

I have an other production/work/multimedia box to my tv/projector.

Will I see much difference between the two?

Ps: I have no clue what 144p looks like, I have been using my gaming laptop for the past 4 years (i960+580m).

I know it is a weird question, I can afford it, but part of me is wondering you know... Bills,gf,traveling, cars etc...

Help a brother out

Seeing as I can't read either... I'll just give recommendations

Z97 is, IMO, the sweet spot between price and performance. You have enough oomph to do some serious work, and for cheap enough you can add more later if you want.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Sorry the screen caps should be up now.

Yeah, for light work and no real rendering, the z97 build would be the way I'd go. However it never hurts for photos to upgrade to 32gb of ram... I've gone through even more than that on some really intensive 60mp photos, but I can probably guarantee 32 would be a worthwhile upgrade for photo work. Otherwise, from what i can read, it looks decent, and a lot cheaper :)
