so i updated to a 4790k and lost a spring to my apogee hd and had to use the ek block that came with my kit. ive tilted my pc got all the air out and get about 33-38 on idle.  if i aida64 stress test it bounces around 60's to low 70's turning the fans to full makes no difference.

no over clocking yet till im sure about temps

i realy want to re use my apogee hd which was giving me high 20's low 30's avereage on idle on a 4770k.  can i use the spare springs it came with there same hight just a little thicker and slightly stiffer i think the springs were for the other cpu sockets.

it curently has the ek-l360 kit with aprox 90% acrylic hardline and aprox 10% primochil flex tubing(so i can route behind the mobo tray instead of the black rubber crap it came with

you can use any springs that fit as long as you don't mix different springs together. As to your temps, I use the the fairly similar EK-supremacy LTX block on my overclocked 4670k @ 1.33V and get high 20s at idle and mid 60s under load. You may have a bad mount, but if you're going to be switching to the apogee it doesn't matter anyways.
