Hello. I possess a Gamer PC. Here are the specs :

-GTX 970
-Intel Core I5 4690K
-4*2GB RAM Kingston
-HDD Seagate Barracuda 1To
-MSI Gaming 5
So since a coople of days, my HDD usage randomly (like every 10, 5 or 20 min) goes to 100% for several minutes. So I checked for viruses (Avast, Malwarebytes) : none, and CrystalDiskInfo also says that everything is right. I saw on the internet that it actually concerns lots of people, but its origins seem to be numerous. Consequently, I am here asking for help ! So if you know anything that could help me, please post something :)
Sorry for my terrible english, I'm a young foreigner.

Oh yes sorry I forgot... I checked on the (it is the name in french I do not know how you say that in english) Gestionnaire des tâches and the usage is really independant of any program going on (usually, when idling, the antivirus and "System" are the most demanding things)

Hm.

I think that you're just running too much stuff if it's all spread out.

Sig under construction.

I still think this is normal, some program tend to do that though, depending of what the usage. It is not always a virus

A virus scan also does that, I use free avast, suddenly it spiked the resources used. It is considered normal, well, if you are uncomfortable with that you might want to isolate the problem to one or more program and uninstall or change the settings...

Hey jeff_ekaka,

As you said, this could mean many different things. I would suggest that when the spike happens, simply check the resource monitor to see what is using the HDD that much. Also I would suggest using the manufacturer's tool to check the drive's health.
