RAID 0 and RAID 1+0 Advice

Im looking to setup two different raid configuartions,

4 256GB SSD's
RAID 0

4 2TB HDD's
Raid 1+0

Would I be fine just using Asus Z97 ROG onboard rain or should I get a dedicated raid card or us the combination of bother?

Other potential option would be to run a NAS in place of 4 HDD's

Purpose of the HDD storage is for recording / video editing.
Purpose of the SSD is for recording / gaming.

4 hdd put them in raid 5 or 6 as you get more space, 4 ssds in raid 0 for recording and gaming is just stupid

Im not worried about space, simply speed / compatability.

I do not want opinions on if soemthing is "stupid" without reason.

If I need more space Idd simply buy more hard drives. RAID 1+0 is the goal for HDD, not cost effectivness.

I am looking for advised on to use a raid controller or onboard aswell as if the 4TB of HDD space should be NAS or onboard Raid / Raid controller.
