I Have an ASUS N56VZ Laptop which has a Li-ion Battery

I Plug my battery (at 100%) and still charging it to a power strip , for about 10 hours a day

is this okay ? Usually i just browse , watching youtube , watch videos using media player classic, and open netbeans

and sometimes open csgo or cs source (i cap the FPS to 59) but maybe i open this game 2 hours top in 1 week.

Should be fine, I used to use a Dell Laptop as a desktop, it was always left plugged in, its still alive till this day but the hard drive is dying due to age.

Leaving any battery continually charging like that will increase the chances and/or speed at which it retains it's "memory", or maximum capacity.

That said, all batteries do have a lifespan. Charge cycles are limited, so you have to make the choice between the lesser of two evils.

You will begin to see diminishing returns once a battery has reached either of these points.

It's much better these days,. but, I would recommend just pulling the battery out if you are not using it that long.

Emm

What would you recommend to do if i just watch youtube + videos on media player classic all day, like 6-7 hours a day?

i'm a little afraid to pulling out the battery because i put my laptop on a chair next to my bed :) ,

and i think there's a little dust left on the chair (even though yesterday i just vaccum it) that can be going to inside my laptop.

i only use java netbeans when i'm in school or doing some homework , so not that long

There are no vents under the battery slot so you'd get dust in your computer either way. If you're worried about dust just get a can of compressed air and blow it in the vents every couple months. I wouldn't worry too much about your battery, overcharging Li-ion batteries is only a problem when the battery is already malfunctioning.

Typically, batteries will be able to hold / give you their maximum chargeability if they are allowed decent disharge semi-regularly.

Sorry my english is poor (don't quiet understand :( haha)

so i should pulling out the battery (discharge it) maybe 1 time everymonth ? to make it give max chargeablity ?

Emm , there's no store near my home that sales compressed air

even an electronic store which is in the middle of my city (which i buy my custom PC) don't have compressed air :(

so if i just let it plug in and maybe one a month i pull out the battery , it will be the best option for me?

Just unplug the computer when it is at 100%, it is best to charge batteries until they are 80%, and then use them until 20%.

So an example of this would be charging my laptop until the battery is at 80% then unplug it and use it. Then when the battery is at 20%, charge the laptop again. This helps sustain your batteries lifespan. And is also very good for traveling and storage.

Oh, good. My slow clap processor made it into this thing. So we have that.. -Glados

It's no problem at all!

That's what this forum is for! :)

A charge cycle is when your battery goes through it's maximum charge capacity, 100% to 0%

How this is counted can vary, but the most common method is to count a complete cycle, 100% of the maximum available battery. This means it can be broken up between multiple charge sessions.
