Laptop Cooling
I would say a cooling pad but why ???? are you throttling ??? putting it on your lab when gaming ??
Agreed. Gaming laptops are designed to stay cool. Just don't put it on soft surfaces.
He bought a GS series. That means thin & light. That means bad cooling to keep such a form factor.
i mainly use it in bed because im ultimately lazy but when gaming i reach cpu temps of around 90 and gpu of around 80 so far and the only games i have really played alot of is heros of the storm but i was just wondering if anyone had experience with the cooling pads to see if they are worth it
How the FUCK you managed to hit 80 degrees celcius on a Maxwell GPU which I'm assuming to be a 970M I will never understand. I probably couldn't do that with a 980M and an overclock running furmark. I suggest a Notepal U3; adjust the fans around so it properly hits all your vents. And use MSI's software to adjust your fan speed.
And for the love of laptops, please do not put the laptop on a cloth surface where its intake vents get clogged by the cloth. Such as on a bed. On a pillow. On any substance that does not remain even when resting on it. A cooler really is a great choice for you.
Also, if your GPU ever (and I do mean ever) hits 80 degrees at stock on a cooling pad and you're not running furmark, I suggest repasting, because your paste is broken. Maxwell might as well have built in refrigerators it's so cool.
