Differences between Z87 & Z97...

What are the differences, would i be missing out on any features/performance going with a Z87?

There's a few features like Sata express that you'd miss out on, but not many people use the interface anyway. There's not much difference in price between Z87 and 97 from what I see, so you may as well go with Z97 if you can, although Z87 will do just as well.

Z97 supports M.2, SATA Express and will support Broadwell
