Build Assembling

Go to solution Solved by SuperPug,

Put Ram, CPU and cooler on the mobo before installing it in the case. Thats about it...

Hey LTT Forum!

The parts are in, and I'm excited to build it (It's my first build from scratch)! I think I have a general idea of what to do, and what order to do it in, but I'd like to hear if there's any order that you'd recommend. Some videos I've watched (like Linus's) install the cpu, cpu cooler, ram, and power supply, and test them all before putting anything in the case. Others just start putting parts in the case, but put in the HDD and SSD in before wiring the case fans and USB headers, where others don't.

So my questions would be: What tutorial (video or otherwise) would you recommend to me to follow? And is there anything I should absolutely know before the assembly?

I have a good idea of where the parts and cables go and what they do, but I don't know if the order installed mattered in any instance. I can also supply a part list if needed. Thanks for reading! Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: I'm sorry if I posed this in the wrong section! I wasn't sure if it would be better in the guides/tutorials section or not.

Sounds good!

Should I test those components before installing it as well, like I've seen Linus do?

You can... if you want to im usually too lazy.
