Hi,

I am attempting my first PC build, but need some advice, my use of the system will be for some casual gaming (minecraft, various games from Steam), some video editing and some database work in SqliteSpy/Sqlite3.  I have attempted to put together some components from Overclockers.co.uk (as i am from the UK) however what i have put together is significantly above my budget, and I'm not sure if everything is compatible.  I am looking for advice to bring down the cost of my components before i buy them, heres what i have found so far:

My budget is as close to £500 anything less would be amazing, this below is coming to around £700

Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor

Gigabyte Z97X-SLI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti Gaming OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (N750Ti TF 2GD5/OC)

Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020061-UK)

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD1003FZEX) HDD

Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW)

Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-14900C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Red (HX318C9BRK2/8-OC)

Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-03 Mid Tower Gaming Case (CC-9011052-WW)

Pioneer BDC-207DBK 8x BluRay ROM / DVDRW SATA-II Optical Drive - Black (OEM)

Cooler Master Seidon 120V Ver. 2 AIO CPU Cooler

Corsair SP120 Quiet Series High Pressure Low Noise - Dual Pack (CO-9050006-WW)

Arctic Cooling MX-4 Thermal Compound (4g)

I appreciate any help and advice i can get! :)

Your bulid is a bit messy. You don't need a thermal compond and the power supply is massively over exaggerated. Drop for a i5 4460 and get a 970 and don't get the AIO cooler you can use the stock cooler as you can't overclock the i5 4460.
