Greetings to the community! I'm new to the forum. I'm currently building my new gaming pc that also I'm gonna be using for my YouTube channel. I will use it for capturing gameplay and heavy editing. Also I create 3D models for video games and I have been experimenting with some games that I created myself. I need you guys to suggest a power supply for my PC and explain to me what I need to look for before buying one. Will a 750w be enough? Or should I get a 850w power supply or more? Keep in mind that I will buy another graphics card for SLI. Plus I want your opinions on the system. Is it a good choice? Will it handle most of the games for now and following years? Should I change anything? My budget limit is 1.000 euros (1.141 dollars) I need it for heavy gaming, rendering, editing. Thank you.

CPU: i7-4790K

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX970 4GB Windforce (Will put another one after a few months for SLI)

RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 2x8GB(16GB) (Will upgrade up to 32GB after a few months)

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero

Hard Drives: Sandisk Ultra II SSD 240GB, Western Digital Caviar Green 4TB

750 is more than enough for an intel/maxwell system. Really you don't need more than 450w unless you plan on getting two gpus. That being said if you still want a 750w get the evga g2. You won't find anything better at it's price point.

A decent 700w would be plenty.

Can you link us to where you're shopping?

Moving thread to Cases and Power Supplies--please post in the correct sub-forum in the future.

If you plan to do a lot of editing etc, consider splashing out a bit further, and getting an i7 5820k. It'd mean pricey X99 mobo + ram though, ~£200 more. But those cores will help a lot.

So anything above 750w is fine even for two 970s and an i7-4790K? Also going for the i7-5820K and DDR4 is a good idea? It's a lot of extra money, will the new features and extra cores make it worth these extra 200-250 dollars?

I'm buying from my local tech store: http://www.plaisio.gr/

Thanks for the quick reply guys!

Anything decent would be fine.

Whether it's worth going for the 5820k depends on whether or not you need the extra cores. It would help to describe what kind of content work you're doing.

My work is mostly on CryEngine. I am trying to create a full playable game, with cutscenes and everything created by me. The only work that is not mine is the voice acting and music. It is open world and I want to know for sure that when I import my previous designs I won't have fps drops when rendering. Also I create 3D models of cars, animals, trees, rocks and pretty much everything that is generic for other people too. And on top of this I want to capture real time gameplay from my games and create a YouTube series on my channel on how I created them and every level in the entire game (A.I, lighting, textures). Also I already have a website for games that me and some folks review games and sometimes we do livestreams and walkthroughs on YouTube, so I want my videos to be high quality with everything on the highest setting, to provide the best experience possible for every game.

Can you give some more info on the scale of projects you're working on?
