Looking for a good mechanical keyboard for under 80/90 Euro's

So i'm looking for a nice mechanical keyboard for under 80/90 euro's.

I preffer Blue's or Blacks.

must be available in The Netherlands.

backlight would be nice, but is not needed.

Does anyone know what keyboard to buy?

I think i'm going for the CM Storm Trigger, I costs a little more but it has more things like backlighting and macrokeys.

And you know for certain you don't like MX Brown? They are a compromise betveen MX Blue and MX Red.

Have the tactile feel (bump, on 2mm from the 4mm overall key travel) like MX Blue but with no clicky sound and are a bit easier to press (Blues 50g, Browns 45g).

MX black require 60g and MX red 45g. Black & red are linear (non-tactile).

Also, MX Green, Blue & Brown are more for typing, and MX Red & Black are more for gaming.

MX brown is a great switch overall, good for gaming and great for typing.

The problem is - I don't know the prices and availability of keyboards in The Netherlands.

I could make some wild guesses, that could be all.

Maybe Logitech G710+ (sometimes marked as "G710 plus")?

Or some Filco Majestouch? Das Keyboard maybe?

The G710+ is really good. I only have to wait a little longer to buy it since it's 120 euro's but that's okay.

Wait a little longer, but don't wait too long.

If you're buying a good keyboard it's allways a good choice to wait a month or two to get a better one than buying one not that good as the one you're waiting.

A mechanical keyboard will probably serve you for a large time period, perhaps even when USB comes out of ussage, so it's better to buy a good one.

I guess i'm going to get that one! and i MIGHT consider a corsair vengeance keyboard, something like a K70, You can get those in different switches, not sure which though, if i can get a K70 with MX browns i might get one of those, i'll see.

at least, i THINK linus said that you can get different switches in his last unboxing.

He did. But as far I know the only available Corsair keyboards in Europe are with Red switches. Don't know why that is.

And also I think Corsair makes only ANSI (small Enter) layout keyboards, no ISO (large enter).

Oh okay, so the g710+ is the best in my country :P

I was looking at the AZIO Levetron Mech5 too, That thing is extremely amazing, unfortunaly the shipping costs are just as high as the actual keyboard itself :(

The best with MX Brown as it would seem. But maybe not the best mechanical there.

Someone who likes MX Red switches or MX Black would say a CM Storm trigger or a Corsair K70/K90 are better.

I'm not really sure, i never tried MX Reds... I do love corsair K70/K90, backlighting os great and the build quality is awesome.

If typing does matter, MX Brown or Blue are far better, but Brown is better for gaming than Blue.

If you like 2mm key travel (like on chicklet keyboards, notebook keyboards, scissor switch keyboards) - MX Green, Blue, Brown

If you like that keys need a lot of strength to press (like most older membrane keyboards) - Green, Black, Blue

If you like softer keys - Brown, Red

If you need to double-tap keys fast - don't look at MX Green and Blue. Brown can do, maybe even better than Black or Red but that is discutable.

Well, for me MX Browns are defenitely the best.

And since there are no other browns in my country than the G710+, i should get that one.  

And maybe another keyboard comes out before the time i bought that one, we'll see.

But you said browns are large key travel AND 2 mm keytravel? how is that?

All mechanical Cherry MX switches have a travel distance of 4mm, and all of them register the key as pressed on 2mm from these 4, so you don't have to press the keys all the way.

MX Green, Blue & Brown are not linear - that means you feel a bump on 2mm from these 4mm (tactile feedback), and that's when the key actuates. Green & Blue make sound on 2mm, Brown does not.

Red & Black are linear, there is no bump on 2mm (no tactile feedback).

 

There are no switches that make a sound on 2mm but don't have tactile feedback.
