Hey guys,

I'm having trouble booting up windows. My computer will start and I can access bios, but that's about it. The windows 8 logo will come on then I get a black screen after that. I tried to reinstall windows 8.1 and refresh my pc but it won't load either.

My rig

Mobo- gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev 4.0

CPU- AMD fx 8310

GPU- gtx 750 ti

Ram- 8gb g skill

Psu- evga 500w

CPU cooler- hyper 212 evo

do you have a spare GPU to use?

also does Safe Mode let you go into Windows?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I don't have a spare GPU. I tried mashing f8 and tried shift + f8 but can't get into safe mode

try clearing CMOS

if not swap the keyboard

coz some keyboards will not work in BIOS or during boot

I'm an amateur to to this, how do I clear the cmos?

you could remove the shiny battery on the board

leave it without it for 5 mins

then install it back

I referred back to the manual and touched the two pins to reset the cmos, however I still get the same results

hmm is there any way you can get spare parts like GPU, CPU ,RAM and PSU?

we need to rule out all possible cause of your black screen boot issues
